12/22/2008: Road Closure Updates

December 22, 2008
8:00 a.m.

Woodinville, WA- The City of Woodinville Public Works crews are responding to the snow that fell overnight and crews have deployed snow plows and sanding operations. Crews are currently working priority one routes. The following City of Woodinville roads remain closed due to snow and ice compaction:

• 124 Ave NE - From 160 Ave NE to SR 202
• 137th Pl NE/NE143rd St. - From 132nd Ave NE to NE SR 202
• NE 190th St - From Woodinville-Snohomish Road to NE North Woodinville Way
• Sirkin - NE 183rd St - From 140th Ave NE to 142nd Ave NE

It is uncertain when these roads are expected to reopen. The City of Woodinville encourages citizens to remain off roadways in snow and ice conditions if possible.

During snow events, the City’s crews clear priority snow routes first. The City’s top priority snow routes include the streets that are essential to providing emergency and life-safety response services, arterial roadways and routes to schools (if in session). Please keep in mind that in severe conditions, crews will be required to keep the first priority streets clear and may not be able to clear other streets until the storm subsides. Once crews clear emergency services routes, major and minor arterials, and routes to commercial services, the City will begin clearing residential streets. Please visit the City’s website to view a copy of the Snow and Ice Removal Route Map, http://www.ci.woodinville.wa.us/Images/Maps/Snow%20Plow%20Routes.pdf

If you encounter snow, ice or dangerous roadways, please call the snow and ice reporting hotline at 425-877-2290. Please indicate the street and location of the snow, ice or hazardous roadway. This voicemail box will be monitored constantly and messages will be prioritized based on the City’s snow and ice removal route map.
