Fall Recycling Event at the Woodinville Park & Ride
2012 Fall Recycling & Collection Event - Saturday, September 8; 9am to 3pm

Rid your house of those tires, batteries, and even the kitchen sink! The City of Woodinville hosts its annual Recycling Event at the Woodinville Park & Ride, NE 179th Street and 140th Avenue NE, on Saturday, September 8; 9am to 3pm.



PLEASE note the DO'S, DON'TS and CHANGES! Please read the following instructions carefully as some changes have been made. Fees apply for the collection of some materials. CASH ONLY accepted for fees.


TIRES: Bias ply, steel belted, and studded tires accepted. $1.00 charge for each passenger tire(19.5" and smaller). $3.00 charge for each tire on a rim. $5.25 charge for each semi-truck tire and $10 charge for each semi-truck tire on a rim.

BATTERIES: Lead Acid: car, truck, marine, and motorcycle batteries accepted. Household Alkaline: AAAA, AAA, AA, A, C, D and 9 volt batteries.

MOTOR OIL, FILTERS & ANTIFREEZE: Motor oil, oil filters, antifreeze, transmission fluid, 2-cycle oil, crankcase oil, kerosene and home heating fuel. Do not mix with antifreeze, solvents, gasoline, or other substances.

REFRIGERATORS, FREEZERS & AIR CONDITIONERS: $25 charge* for each refrigerator and freezer; $35 charge* for each window air conditioner. Household units ONLY.
*Fees cover the safe, proper removal and disposal of chlorofluorocarbons (CFC coolants) in the units. CASH ONLY accepted at the drop-off.

HOUSEHOLD GOODS & CLOTHING: Used clothing and textiles, and small furniture in good condition only. Items in need of repair WILL NOT be accepted.

Computers, moniters, laptops and televisions are not being accepted (see E-cycle information below). Please note that computer peripherals such as keyboards, mice, and printers are not included in the E-Cycle program, but will be accepted at the City Recycling Collection Event.

APPLIANCES, MATTRESSES & SCRAP METAL: Any metal, auto parts, broken bikes, metal lawn furniture, mowers (drain all fluids), stoves, microwaves, barbecues, washers/dryers, dishwashers, hot water tanks, iron, steel, aluminum, brass, copper and other ferrous and nonferrous metal. There is a $10 charge for each mattress and box spring. Residential 5 gallon Propane Tanks are accepted with a $5 charge (cash only). Metals that are insulated, rubber or oil coated, previously or currently contain chemicals, paint, or hazardous materials will NOT be accepted.

CARDBOARD: Please flatten. No wax coated cardboard.

CLEAN WOOD: Includes clean wood, plywood, pallets, and other UNTREATED and UNPAINTED wood. NO peg, particle, or press board.

BULKY WOOD: Includes tree branches (6-inch diameter and larger) and logs.
NO leaves, grass, small branches, sod or brush. For easy removal, please lay tarp under material.

PORCELAIN SINKS & TOILETS: Toilets and sinks will be accepted for a $10 (cash only) fee for each. Please REMOVE wooden or plastic toilet seats, hardware and base wax rings at the bottom.
Metal sinks and metal toilet parts are accepted as Scrap Metal

Here's what we will NOT accept:
NO pesticides/herbicides, paint*, solvents, thinners, household chemicals, cleaning products, computers, televisions, fluorescent lights, light fixture ballasts** construction/demolition debris, yard waste or treated wood, plastic toys, hoses, large furniture, window glass and garbage.

Segregate motor oil (crankcase oil) from all other fluids including brake fluid, hydraulic oil, differential oil, transmission oil, etc. Other types of oil can be added together and brought in a separate container. For Factoria, only pure crankcase containers will be returned. Containers with mixed oils cannont be returned as these types of oil cannot be bulked.

*Latex paint is no longer hazardous waste. King County residents need to dispose of it by drying it out and placing it in the garbage with the lid off. For more information please visit

* *Ballasts containing polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) should be double bagged and taken to the Wastemobile or a household hazardous waste facility. Those stamped "No PCBs" can be taken to a transfer station.

We reserve the right to refuse oversized, commercial, contaminated, excessive or unacceptable loads.


Service provider shall have no obligation to collect any hazardous or other materials that do not conform to the specific descriptions listed above.

Guidelines for this year's event differ from previous events. Please review the instructions carefully.

ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT IS NO LONGER COLLECTED at our events. We encourage you to visit for information on the new E-Waste Law and permanent collection sites in your area.

On January 1, 2009 the new product stewardship law in Washington went into effect. This law requires manufacturers to provide electronics recycling services at no cost for certain items. These items include televisions, computers, computer monitors, portable or laptop computers. For more details please visit Ecycle Washington
