City to Hold Two Open Houses for Draft Downtown Streetscape Master Plan and Gateway/Wayfinding Sign Plan
Community members are invited to two Open Houses to comment on two plans that would enhance the look and feel of Woodinville.
The Downtown Streetscape Master Plan will implement new design standards to compliment new development regulations passed by the City Council in late 2010. The Plan identifies different street types and accompanying amenities in downtown Woodinville, like benches, street lights, and landscaping, to create visual appeal and provide for vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian circulation appropriate to downtown development. When development occurs, the plan would help transform downtown Woodinville into a walkable place with a unique look and feel.
The Wayfinding/Gateway Sign Plan will establish a consistent Woodinville identity by using a family of different signs at major entryways to the city and throughout the city to guide visitors and residents to Woodinville’s various “districts,” such as downtown and the Tourism District.
The City will be holding two identical Open House meetings that are open to Chamber members and to the community at large. An afternoon meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 23rd from 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM, and evening meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 24th from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM. Both meetings will be held in the City Hall Council Chambers, located at 17301 133rd Avenue NE.
The plans are available on the City’s website for review at http://www.ci.woodinville.wa.us/CityHall/ProjectsDevelopment.asp. Comments on both of these plans can also be e-mailed to Alexandra Sheeks, Assistant to the City Manager, at asheeks@ci.woodinville.wa.us.
