City Seeks Woodinville Citizens to Write Arguments for Possible November 2010 Ballot Measure

Woodinville, WA – The City is seeking interested individuals to prepare written arguments in support and in opposition to a possible property tax increase measure for the November 2010 General Election Ballot. The possible ballot measure would increase property taxes to pay for parks and recreation programs and the Carol Edwards Community Center.

The City Council is scheduled to decide August 3, 2010 whether it will place the matter on the upcoming November 2010 Ballot for voters to decide. If the Woodinville City Council approves the measure for the November Ballot, it is expected that the City Council will appoint members to the “pro and con argument committees” on or about August 10, 2010.

The City Council may appoint up to three individuals to each committee who will write “pro and con” arguments about the measure that will appear in the local voters’ pamphlet for the November 2010 Election.

Individuals interested in serving on either the pro committee or con committee need to submit their name, address, phone number, and email address, and which committee they would like to serve on, to the City as soon as possible. For more information, contact City Clerk Jennifer Kuhn at 425.877.2262.
