Long-Range Planning Program
Woodinville’s Long Range Planning Program is engaged in preparation, maintenance and update of the Woodinville Comprehensive Plan and other planning documents that guides future development of the City. The Comprehensive Plan includes land use, capital facilities planning, transportation, housing, and other chapters that address the needs of Woodinville for the next 20 years and ensures compliance with the Growth Management Act (GMA).
Responsibilities
Long Range Planning is responsible for annual updates of the Comprehensive Plan map and text, revision of the Zoning Map and development regulations to maintain consistency with the Comprehensive Plan and provides resource assistance to the City Council, Planning Commission, and other City departments.
City Plans
The City of Woodinville maintains a variety of long-range plans that guide the City's activities and progress towards specific goals. Plans are wide-ranging and touch on topics such as stormwater, transportation, land-use planning and parks and recreation.

Comprehensive Plan
Woodinville's first Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 1996 and set development and growth guidelines in and around Woodinville for a 20-year period. Through yearly updates (Annual Docket), the Plan provides direction for the physical development of Woodinville and serves as a guideline for designating land uses, developing infrastructure, establishing community services and implementing regulations.

Master Plans & Guidelines
Master plans and guidelines support the goals and objectives of the Comprehensive Plan. Each plan helps to provide a more detailed vision and to identify the ways the City can achieve a balance of growth inside and even outside City limits.

Parks, Recreation & Open Space Plan
The Parks, Recreation, and Open Space (PRO) Plan establishes goals, criteria, and plans for future parks, recreation, and open space facilities in Woodinville.
