Engineering

The Public Works engineering group is responsible for:

  • Project design, construction, maintenance and operation of street and storm drainage system
  • Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) development, public outreach
  • Capital construction project management
  • Development of transportation associated codes and regulations
  • Securing transportation funding
  • Franchise Agreements
  • Overseeing Solid Waste
  • Ensuring private development proposals meet transportation and drainage requirements
  • Administration of Traffic Impact Fees
  • Neighborhood safety program including the Speed Awareness Monitoring (SAM) unit
  • Ensuring adherence to Transportation Infrastructure Standards and Specifications (TISS)
  • Conducting traffic counts

Public Works Engineering consists of the director, assistant director, a team of professional engineers, technicians, and senior administrative assistant.
