The Public Works engineering group is responsible for:
- Project design, construction, maintenance and operation of street and storm drainage system
- Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) development, public outreach
- Capital construction project management
- Development of transportation associated codes and regulations
- Securing transportation funding
- Franchise Agreements
- Overseeing Solid Waste
- Ensuring private development proposals meet transportation and drainage requirements
- Administration of Traffic Impact Fees
- Neighborhood safety program including the Speed Awareness Monitoring (SAM) unit
- Ensuring adherence to Transportation Infrastructure Standards and Specifications (TISS)
- Conducting traffic counts
Public Works Engineering consists of the director, assistant director, a team of professional engineers, technicians, and senior administrative assistant.
