Project Summary
The SR 202 Widening and Trestle Replacement project will replace the existing railroad trestle and widen SR 202 to eight lanes between NE 175th Street and NE 177th Place (Little Bear Creek Parkway). This bridge will not only serve as the Woodinville section of the new 42-mile long Eastrail Regional Trail Project, it will also be a gateway into Woodinville and help alleviate traffic congestion through the downtown corridor.
This bridge will connect into a paved multi-use trail that will span from the Sammamish River Trail to the upcoming 133rd Ave NE grid at Woodinville Snohomish Road. Pedestrian improvements on 131st Ave NE and connections to the trail will be part of the project.
The City is currently in the design and permitting phase of this project. Construction is expected to start in Fall of 2025 and be completed in late 2026.
Public Engagement
The City recently requested the public's help selecting a design for the new pedestrian bridge that will replace the current train trestle when we widen the street below. The public Survey was open for nearly a full month and closed August 27. The final results of the survey are expected to go before the City Council on September 19, 2023. The public is welcome to attend the meeting and comment on the project! The two design options are provided below:
