Stormwater Field Survey and GIS Mapping

The City of Woodinville recognized a need for complete and detailed mapping and documentation of the City’s stormwater drainage system. This includes stormwater pipes, catch basins, inlets, outlets, and stormwater facilities. The City is 5.65 square miles and there are approximately 53 miles of stormwater pipe, 40 miles of ditches, 2,700 catch basins, and 150 stormwater treatment and flow control facilities owned or operated by the City.

The overall goal of this project is to help protect and restore water quality in Washington state by reducing stormwater impacts from existing infrastructure and development. This project will provide updated mapping of the stormwater system, which in turn will help the City of Woodinville identify stormwater management needs, comply with regulatory requirements of the Western Washington Phase II Municipal Stormwater Permit, and assist with comprehensive stormwater management planning. This will also help the City respond to emergencies such as flooding and environmental pollutant spills.

The project is expected to be completed in Summer 2024.
