On December 23, 2022, President Biden signed the Omnibus Appropriations bill for FY23, which included over $19.4 million for 15 community projects across Washington’s 1st Congressional District that were championed by Congresswoman Suzan DelBene. These range from road and trail improvements, expanded mental health facilities, and support for farmer’s markets and senior services. This is a momentous opportunity that will have a long-term positive impact on our communities!
The City of Woodinville will be awarded $2.5 million of the federal funds, which will go to the Eastrail Crossing and SR 202 Trestle Widening Project; expanding and improving where the Eastrail passes over State Route 202 at the entrance of downtown Woodinville. This federal investment builds upon $5 million in funding the City received from the State earlier in 2022. The end result will be the replacement of the current trestle bridge with a pedestrian bridge, and widening of the SR 202 roadway.
The City is thrilled to receive funding that will allow us to make significant progress on the Eastrail project and connect us to the rest of the eastern regions! “I would like to formally thank Congresswoman DelBene for her partnership and unwavering advocacy to help bring federal funds to Woodinville. This $2.5m award to replace Woodinville's trestle bridge will not only help to move the Eastrail project forward, but it will also widen one of our most heavily used roadways and a major gateway to the City. The future of Woodinville is even brighter, thanks for funding such as this that makes the City not only more enjoyable to experience but safer to do so. It has been a pleasure to collaborate on this important project and I look forward to future opportunities to work together.” - Mayor Mike Millman
