State Reps to Hold Town Hall on Housing Bills on March 19th

Capitol Building

The Woodinville Community is invited to a Town Hall meeting to learn about a veriety of bills that are currently under consideration by the Washington State Legislature.

Event Details:

Sunday, March 19th from 1:00 pm to 2:30pm

Cascadia College, Mobius Hall

18345 Campus Way NE

Bothell, WA 98011

Facts about current housing legislation under consideration:

  • House Bill (HB) 1110 seeks to give Washington State the power to overturn local control of our zoning laws and allow the construction of up to six housing units per lot.
  • HB 1110 does not consider a lack of critical infrastructure such as sewage lines in areas currently served by septic such as in the R1 Zone.
  • While the bills are being positioned as an effort to increase affordable housing, HB 1110 will almost exclusively result in market-rate housing

The City is currently exceeding our housing goals required under the Growth Management Act and is working to build density in a walkable downtown where infrastructure and services are already in place. Woodinville is already planned to grow an additional 30% in the next 5 years.
