Downtown Sidewalk Panel Replacement Project

concrete-3848937_960_720-L

Starting on Monday, January 8th, the City will remove/replace sidewalk panels in the downtown area that have been identified as trip hazards caused primarily by tree roots. During the removal/replacement, a certified arborist will be onsite to assess the trees impacting the sidewalk within the project area and to evaluate appropriate treatment, like tree root pruning. In the event tree removal is warranted, alternate planting options will be evaluated and implemented. Most of the work will be done along NE 175th Street, 140th Avenue NE, and 133rd Avenue NE. The affected areas are shown in the project map below.

The project is anticipated to last approximately eight weeks with construction hours of 7AM – 7PM Monday through Friday. There may be temporary traffic, pedestrian access, and parking impacts in the downtown area from construction work related to this project. The City will post necessary signage, indicating parking restrictions, prior to beginning of work.
