Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan
Posted on 07/02/2019
Southern Whidbey Island Fault Earthquake ScenarioWoodinville is partnering with King County to update our Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan for 2020-2025. The purpose of the plan is to evaluate the risk and impact of hazards such as flooding, earthquakes, and cyber security threats, and develop strategies to mitigate them. In the past, the City has pursued strategies that included construction of culverts to reduce flooding downtown and investment in generators to keep critical city facilities operational during power outages.

The draft plan is currently in development and will be made available for public review in early fall 2019.

Public outreach for this project will occur at Celebrate Woodinville on August 17, 2019. The draft plan will be reviewed at a City Council Study Session open to the public on October 1, 2019.

In the meantime, you can view background documents related to Hazard Mitigation Planning in our Document Center. Those documents include the 2015-2020 Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan and a link to King County's Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan website.
